Great Pyrenees Rescue Society (GPRS) called Duck Team 6 to assist in the capture of a mommy dog. She was living in a truck parts yard for two and a half years. She spent most of her days under a large truck and the wonderful workers at the truck yard fed her. Rosie thought her life was good, but the workers knew she deserved better.

She was not spayed, so she would have a litter of puppies every heat cycle. She’s been a mommy repeatedly and her puppies got taken or they disappeared.

The Duck Team 6, is a group of volunteers who works tirelessly to capture elusive street dogs and move them towards a brighter future. They went out and set up an XL trap and game camera. Over a week, they watched Rosie eat inside the locked open trap, so they knew she was ready for capture. They went back out and within 10 minutes she was caught!

As the Duck Team 6 was loading Rosie in the van, they noticed one of the workers walking away in tears. Everyone there loved Rosie and they showed their love by doing what was hard, but necessary. They unselfishly let her leave the truck yard so she can finally have what she’s deserved all along, a loving home!

She was covered in diesel fuel and dirty, so GPRS took her to the vet to be examined and cleaned up.

Today she is living with a wonderful foster family. Rosie is a gorgeous healthy three-year-old sweetheart weighing about 72 pounds. She is shy when first meeting new people but warms up quickly. Rosie is house trained, crate trained, likes to go on walks, and does ok in the car. She gets along with her foster brother Balou who adores her. Many of us would like to see Balou and Rosie be adopted together as Balou has been her champion for a while. Both have had a hard life before GPRS rescued them and possess no past grudges.

Their foster family, a pair of empty nesters, provides these two easy going Pyrs with a daily dog walk, two square meals a day, treats and unlimited love, pets, and ear/belly scratches. Any family adopting them will be blessed with two great dogs!
