My name is Moose, but don’t let my name fool you, I'm a lot smaller than an actual Moose. I was born in June 2022 and currently weigh 28 pounds. I was found as a stray and brought into a Texas shelter all alone. I was lucky though, because shortly thereafter, GPRS rescued me! Since then, I’ve been taken care of by generous foster families who are helping me acclimatize to living in a home and having a temporary pack. My current foster family (who affectionately refer to me as “Moo Moo”) rave about me, and describe me as friendly, playful and treat motivated (especially Chicken Jerky).

I currently have a foster sister who I’m very fond of, but sometimes she’s grumpy and gets after me, which helps me learn solid pack manners. I crave the companionship of other animals and will require another dog in the home to act as my mentor as I continue to understand the rules of this new world. I am easily corrected by humans (even when I dig up the grass and carry it around in my mouth), and am learning the word “sit,” which means I’m a pretty smart boy. I’m brave too. I even stand up to the big suction machine that my foster mom calls a “vacuum.” I sleep through the night in my crate and overall I’m on the mellow side. You can usually find me with a stuffie (especially one that squeaks), cuddled in front of the TV.

I walk nicely on a leash and enjoy daily walks! I also enjoy riding in the car and get excited for the possibility of adventure. I love people, hugs, pets, belly rubs, and a good leg to lean on. I'm also doing really well with my potty training, so I guess you could say I'm the complete puppy-package! I can't wait to meet my forever family. If you think that might be you, will you please fill out an adoption application?

PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS.

Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary.

  1. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home.
  2. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family.
  3. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply.
  4. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience.
  5. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place.
  6. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy.
  7. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered.

Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters located outside of Texas pay the cost of transport to an independent transport service ($250).
