If you’re looking for a dog that embodies everything we love about this large breed, keep reading about Robbie! At around three years old, this boy gets a lot of attention on his neighborhood walks. Besides his enormous size, Robbie’s striking face (including markings that look like a constellation of stars) grabs the attention of onlookers. He’s happy to meet his admirers and engages with them sweetly.
Robbie’s foster parents describe him as intelligent and sensitive, with a desire to please his humans. Even a gentle correction of “no” results in an immediate look of shame (coupled with the best puppy-dog eyes). This clumsy giant loves Zoomies (sometimes even losing himself in a good zoom, and running into things). True to the Pyr nature, he is also kind to smaller friends, like cats. Dogs are friends too (especially his foster brother), but he can be a little shy with new dogs at first. His list of fears make his foster family laugh, as they include: the hair dryer at the dog wash, large sticks, and the vacuum.
Robbie has grown out of the typical bad behaviors. He does not chew, jump or pull on the lease (except for when the occasional smell is irresistible). He has no food aggression and does not counter surf. He sleeps through the night, and prefers the floor (he says it’s much cooler). He does enjoy dog beds, but so far hasn’t found one that he actually fits on! If you think you have space for his big boy (who has an even bigger heart), apply today!
