Hello my name is Dobby but my friends call me Dobs.  I am a Great Pyrenees/mix and born in March 2023.  My favorite thing to eat is everything! I love my kibble, I love treats, I love bully sticks. I’m not picky. My favorite thing to play with is my one year old foster sis, we play all day. My funniest quirk is I really really like barking and talking. I bark when I’m excited, happy, nervous, I even bark on cue. I just like to express myself. What I dislike the most is being away from my humans and foster siblings. My foster mom says I have the sweetest eyes. Whenever someone pets me, I melt onto the floor for belly rubs and more pets. I sleep in the crate in the bedroom until I go potty outside early in the morning, then I move to my favorite spot, the human bed. I’m fine sleeping in my crate as long as I’m near a human. I don’t really like being in my crate out of sight of my human though, I will need to slowly work up to that.  I do love car rides and I hop right in and love going new places. I also like cats and my foster sister and I think they’re kind of fun to chase, but I can be redirected for a tasty treat. I just want to play.

ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206.

PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS.

Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary.

  1. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home.
  2. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family.
  3. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply.
  4. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience.
  5. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place.
  6. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy.
  7. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered.

Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and company used. Northeast transport fee is $200. The Northwest and Midwest transport fees range from $225-$350, The Southeast transport fees range from $250-$350.
