Great Pyrenees Rescue Society of Texas: Saving and Rehoming Great Pyrenees Dogs in Need

Located in Texas, Great Pyrenees Rescue Society is a volunteer run, foster-based, 501(c)(3) animal rescue dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of Great Pyrenees dogs whose lives are in danger.  Absolutely 100% of all donations go to the dogs that we care for. Most of our dogs come to us from kill shelters around the Central Texas, South Texas and Greater Houston area. We place them in foster homes in the Pacific Northwest and Texas while they are evaluated and rehabilitated until we find a permanent home for them.

We transport and adopt dogs to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, New Mexico, and Arizona, along with Texas. There are so many more wonderful, majestic, and deserving Great Pyrenees needing help in Texas than we have places for. The only way we can save these precious dogs is with your help. We always need temporary foster homes, donations, volunteers' help and of course if you can give a dog a permanent home, you'll complete our dream.

Thank you to all for your help and support in saving this true Gentle Giant breed.

Meet Elijah, a true gem waiting to find his forever family. Elijah's life took a sad turn recently when his previous owner suddenly passed away, and it left a mark on his gentle heart. But he’s resilient, and with time, he’ll blossom into an even more loving companion. Born in May 2015, this sweet boy relishes the simple pleasures of soft beds and leisurely lounging. He’s not high-energy; instead, he’s the perfect companion for cozy evenings and lazy afternoons. If more about Elijah
Izzy now Rosie is a sweet 3 year old girl. She loves to play and adores the company of other dogs. She was surrendered to us because of some life changes with her owners. She walks well on leash and has had professional obedience training. She spent at least two days a week at doggie daycare. She loves people but must have a home with another large playful dog. Kids over 12 only please. She had not been around small children and is not used to them. She’s a petite girl weighing about more about Izzy
Introducing Cotton, the quintessential sweet and gentle Great Pyrenees gal. Born in November of 2013, this lovely lady found herself in the care of the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society alongside her sister after their owner fell ill and could no longer provide for them. When Cotton reached her foster home, she was a little plump, and she wasn't particularly ecstatic about the diet she was placed on. But over time she has blossomed into a healthier version of herself, and it is evident she more about Cotton
Hello, my name is Clyde, but they call me Clydesdale….probably because I’m such a majestic and handsome chap. Born around February 2020, I am pure Great Pyrenees and I have the size to prove it! I have a beautiful big head and great big puppy dog eyes that will melt your heart. I might not be a high-energy guy, but my favorite thing to do is walk with my foster mom…I love to stop and enjoy all the amazing smells along the way. I’m a friendly guy, often times playful, more about Clyde
