Howdy! My name is Murphy. I’m looking for my forever home where I can have at least one large doggy playmate. I was born in May of 2022. Being a growing adolescent, I’m a big boy and I need a place to play where I can also learn to be an even better boy than I already am. And I am a good boy, for sure! I’m sweet and I love people, big dogs, small dogs and even cats. I haven’t had a chance to play with human children, but I’m pretty boisterous, so older children who know how to behave around big dogs might be a better match for me.  I came to GPRS because my owners kept me inside a crate 20 hours a day. I only got to go outside to use the potty, and I had no playmates. I was sad and lonely, and I barked a lot trying to get someone’s attention, because I was stuck inside all alone.  I was punished for barking and having accidents inside. My foster mom is showing me how to relax and not bark so much. Already, I can go the whole night without barking until I need to go outside to do my business. (Oh, yes, I am housebroken!)  I’m very smart, so I already know how to sit, stay and “come to me,” and I’m learning how to walk on a leash. Right now, walks make me a little bit nervous because for the past several months I had to live inside that metal crate too long, and I didn’t get to meet other dogs. Because strange dogs and people make me nervous when we are out walking, I need a strong, firm human with big dog experience to keep me safe and teach me how to relax out in public.  I have been neutered and I’m up to date on all my shots. I’m microchipped, too! My foster mom has sent my DNA for testing to see what other wonderful breeds are in my makeup besides Great Pyrenees. Obviously, I’m crate trained and I eat my meals in my crate. Just please don’t plan to leave me alone in that crate for the whole day. I need attention and love!
